After struggling with chronic lower back pain for years, due to an injury, I finally feel like I’ve found real, lasting relief. Through consistent, thoughtful training on the Reformer and Floor Pilates, Linda has helped me completely eliminate that pain while dramatically improving my pelvic floor health.
As I head into my late 50’s, I’m convinced that this investment in my body will pay immeasurable dividends. I feel healthier, stronger and more capable every week. Linda’s expertise, patience and positive encouragement have made all the difference. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to heal, strengthen, and truly take care of their body for the long term.
What started as gentle, careful work has steadily built into noticeable gains in strength, control and precision. My entire body feels strong and more resilient – my joints included. I move with greater confidence that I won’t throw out my back, than I have in a very long time. ~WB
I have a bulging fifth lumbar disc that occasionally results in excruciating back pain and limited mobility. My way of coping with this is through regular chiropractic care and Pilates.
Linda is an exceptional instructor who is truly focused on core strength. One of the things I find most challenging in her classes – both floor Pilates and Reformer Pilates – is the intensity of the core workout. Every single exercise she comes up with or uses (and by the way, they never repeat) is focused on strengthening the core. If you have problems like mine, this is the main area you need to concentrate on.
I am not where I need to be yet, but I have definitely gotten stronger, and I credit Linda for teaching me how to do the exercises safely and effectively.
If you need someone who understands how the body works and is truly focused on results, she is that person. But most importantly, she is a kind, caring, amazing human being who is wonderful to be around. It is truly a pleasure for me to come to her class and spend time with her.
It has become an important part of my life – something that bring me true joy. KO
This devotion is equally matched with her commitment to her students’ growth and evolution. She will meet you exactly where you are at in your physical process.
As a long time yoga practitioner and a newbie to Pilates, I began my journey with Linda six months ago – the results have been transformative. My mobility, strength and confidence have grown exponentially. Linda creates a safe learning environment filled with community and laughter which will allow you to “push yourself” while respecting your bodies needs and boundaries. Highly recommend. ~ SS
Pilates and learning is her passion. She loves to spend time creating each and every class. She really loves what she does. We need more dedicated people like Linda aka “Lucy”. ~ VK
My private sessions with Linda gave me so many different strategies for managing my scoliosis and an IT band injury I’ve been struggling with. She made me feel very comfortable in her home studio and tailored her approach to exactly what made sense for me.
Thanks again.

Working with Linda has been life-changing! I first approached her with a rather severe case of scoliosis, the Cobb angle measuring upwards of 90 degrees. But with Linda’s personalized exercise routine she custom-tailored to my condition, I’ve experienced an exciting reduction in my curve, a healthier posture, and a sense of empowerment over my health I never dreamed possible. Every step of the way, Linda’s been prepared, knowledgeable, and more than easy to reach with questions. She genuinely cares about her clients and is more than up to the challenge of helping them realize their health goals. I’m grateful to have made the progress I’ve had with her, and I genuinely look forward to what we’ll accomplish together in the future. I’ve got full faith in her abilities and cannot recommend her enough!

“Thank you so much, Linda, for your advice on my needing more myofascial release! Within 2 days, the pain/discomfort which I’d been having for weeks, was gone, leaving me able to thoroughly enjoy my vacation. You’re such a blessing.” ~ K.F.
It was a true pleasure to work with Linda and have her present Yoga for Scoliosis at our yoga studio. She brings a great deal of experience, knowledge and energy to the subject, which helps to not only inform, but also to keep attendees engaged. She has helped a lot of people and we were grateful to learn from her both as students and as instructors. We hope to have her back to the studio next year for this amazing learning experience.

It is of great pleasure that I highly recommend Linda Benton as a yoga instructor for corporate clients, one-on-one private classes and general public classes. I met Linda as an instructor over 10 years ago and I was immediately drawn to follow her in her classes. Her yogi followers and I rave over Linda’s manner, technique of teaching, and knowledge of yoga styles and practices ~ the numbers that attend her classes prove her popularity as a yoga teacher. She provides balanced instruction (top notch queuing like no one I’ve ever experienced), accommodating mixed abilities, personalities and incorporates much insight regarding the spiritual and physical benefits of the practice of yoga.
She integrates a great deal of variety from class to class and provides careful instruction on continual refinement of the foundations of yoga on which we are building. She’s highly respected by fellow yogi’s ~ a particularly impressive quality of Linda’s instruction is the individual attention and support she gives to each of her students. She stands crowds above popularity of any other yoga teacher I know and is doubly esteemed as she remains a student herself and is constantly teacher training. I know no other yoga instructor that keeps building on her educational building blocks of yoga like Linda ~ she is a guru on spinal health.
About your work with me, I’d have to say that it’s brought a much greater awareness of my sense of proprioception and also my tremendous need to continually work on alignment. It’s also given me tools to use every day to negate or diminish some of the tensions that are (more often than not) present in my back. Finally, it’s given me permission to NOT do some of the poses typically done in a yoga class and to know what those are. 😉
When we first started, I was not very strong and did not have good alignment with my poses even though I had been taking yoga classes for a couple years. In addition, I used to experience a nagging ache on the right side of my lower back when walking or even just standing for any length of time. By working with Linda weekly and doing the practice poses at home that she sent me, I now understand my body better and limitations caused by my condition. I would highly recommend Linda. She gives excellent cues and was so caring about my overall well-being and any pain that I might be experiencing.
I recently had a scoliosis evaluation and consultation with Linda Benton. I was hugely impressed at her ability to observe the human body and make such insightful conclusions about body mechanics. So many fitness professionals take the client’s x-ray as the only definitive information, without realizing that the x-ray is only a one time sample taken across time. I liked the way she studied my x-ray, then looked at my actual body and got me to move and hold specific poses. Then she came up with conclusions based on all the data she had taken in.
Thank you so much for the pain relief today!! I’m amazed at how those poses helped. I was a little nervous about what scolioyoga was, because my body doesn’t like to cooperate with “normal” yoga poses. I was so surprised at how it was easy and comfortable to get my body to do what you wanted! I can’t wait to keep working.
I just completed four sessions with Linda learning more about and working to treat my scoliosis. The stretches and poses have been most beneficial, especially now in my senior years. Thanks to Linda’s yoga I found a way to cope with and maintain good spine health for my aging body. I will continue to use these techniques…thanks again, Linda!!
In sessions with Linda, I have learned how to implement yoga to relieve pain and manage several spinal health issues including Scoliosis and Stenosis. Linda individualizes yoga instruction to meet each person’s needs, and does so with expertise and compassion. By integrating the yoga I have learned from Linda into my daily activities, I am experiencing improved functioning and quality of life. Through Linda’s excellent and thoughtful instruction, I am now empowered to use yoga to facilitate healing and managing my spine.
Linda is a wonderful human. she hears you, she listens fully. she warms the soul and I love our weekly sessions. She is helping with my grief and learning yoga techniques to let go and free myself
The most important aspect of the sessions were Linda. To have a guide and a kind voice through it all, validating me and seeing me. Without her guidance, I would not have been able to hone in my visualization and take care with my healing. She is so empowering and full of light, I felt so blessed to have her guidance. In my regular therapy, I go through art therapy. I have created artwork that has depicted how much yoga therapy has lightened my pain and brought more awareness to my inner light. Linda is doing such, such important work and healing hearts and healing spirits. I will forever be thankful.
